"...for the times, they are a changin'" Really? Are they?

Jim Henderson in his "Conversation at the Edge" blog
http://conversationattheedge.com/2008/02/03/when-people-like-each-other-the-rules-change/ quotes South Aftrican missiologist David Bosch and Drucker in talking about mega-change paradigms and the time they take (decades or even centuries)
to fully establish themselves.

Jim also says that we are essentially working of a 500+ year old church paradigm that came in w/ Luther.

So, my questions are:
  1. Could Bosch, Drucker & Henderson be right?
  2. What does life look like if the new "flat world" driven by technology has now taken that "decades or even centuriess" and turned it into a few years?  How does that feel? What does that look like?
  3. Does this have anything to do with the days being "shortened?"
